When you are caught up in the middle of it all - the recruit who backs out at the last minute, the recorder that eats your interview tape, the endless SPSS recodes - it does seem a bit like a means with no end. It is great to be reminded that the hard work does pay off by advancing knowledge about our communities and if we are really lucky, improving the lives of our neighbors.
